Application Process
- Receive Form I-20: Obtain this form from your SEVP-approved school after acceptance.
- Pay SEVIS Fee: Pay the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) fee and obtain the receipt.
- Complete DS-160: Fill out the Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application form (DS-160) on the Consular Electronic Application Center website.
- Schedule Visa Interview: Book an appointment at the U.S. embassy or consulate in your home country.
- Attend Visa Interview: Present required documents and undergo an interview with a consular officer.

- Form I-20: Issued by your U.S. school.
- DS-160 Confirmation: Proof of completed application form.
- Visa Appointment Confirmation: Proof of your scheduled interview.
- SEVIS Fee Receipt: Proof of payment for the SEVIS fee.
- Passport: Valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay.
- Passport Photos: Typically two recent passport-sized photos.
- Financial Evidence: Documents showing sufficient funds (bank statements, affidavits).
- Academic Records: Transcripts, diplomas, certificates.
- Visa Fee Payment Receipt: Proof of payment for the visa application fee.
